Course Description

For over 14 years, Sony has been the pioneer and innovator in the mirrorless digital imaging world. Sony saw the future of imaging in mirrorless technology in 2010 with the invention of E-Mount—revolutionizing and energizing the industry.

In 2013 Sony created the first full-frame mirrorless camera using that same, incredibly versatile, E-Mount. Since then, Sony has been innovating at such a rapid rate, they have become the #1 full-frame camera system worldwide.

Led by photo industry veteran Rick Berk, this online workshop is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to capture stunning images in any setting. Throughout the program, we explore the intricate workings of the Sony A7 series camera, focusing particularly on menu settings and its advanced focus and exposure systems. From understanding the numerous autofocus modes to mastering manual focus techniques, you gain a thorough understanding of how to achieve precise focus in any scenario. Additionally, you learn how to manipulate exposure settings effectively, ensuring perfectly balanced and well-exposed photographs every time.

In addition, Rick dives into the creative tools and customization options that the Sony A7 series offers. Unleash your creativity as you discover how to use features like picture profiles, creative styles, and dynamic range optimization to add your unique touch to every image. Learn how to customize your camera settings to suit your photographic style, maximizing efficiency and creativity in your workflow.

This workshop spans two weeks, so you have time to test out the concepts you learn in class and time to do your homework. Yes, there is homework! But don’t worry, the homework is fun and designed to help fortify everything you learned during the workshop.

By the end of this workshop, you are equipped with the knowledge and confidence to fully utilize your Sony A7 series camera to its fullest potential. Whether you’re capturing breathtaking landscapes, intimate portraits, or dynamic street scenes, you have the skills and understanding to produce professional-quality images that truly stand out.

If you are new to mirrorless technology, a lifelong seasoned pro, or someone interested in picking up a camera again after a few years away, Rick welcomes everyone to this workshop.

Please note this workshop covers the following models: A7, A7M2, A7M3, A7M4, A7R, A7RM2, A7RM3, A7RM4, A7RM5, A7S, A7SM2 and A7SM3.
