Course Description

A good place to learn something new is to start at the beginning. We have a suggestion if you desire to take on photography as a hobby or potentially as a profession. Enroll in Will Van Beckum’s online workshop to build a solid foundation as an image maker.

This six-week program offers participants a well-rounded overview into the technical and creative foundations of digital photography. Learn all about your camera and lenses, the creative photographic principles, and image manipulation/workflow in Adobe Lightroom Classic. At the end of the workshop, you have a diverse technical and creative background to allow you to continue creating visually compelling images independently.

Each week you learn a new camera skill, a new creative idea, and a set of Lightroom tools. At the end of the six weeks, you are able to control your camera with confidence, create images that are visually and thematically interesting, develop your images to extract their maximum potential, and export high-quality works of art for print or online display! This workshop is split into prerecorded lectures to present new topics and skills, followed by live sessions with Will in our Zoom classroom for image reviews and the opportunity to ask questions and discuss topics of interest and importance.

Start at the beginning is always a good mantra, and if you didn’t, have the smarts to start all over again at the beginning.

While we do our best to minimize the impact of these variables, they are outside the control of Santa Fe Workshops.
