Adobe Photoshop: Developing Your Images

with Zach Taylor

Course Description

Adobe Photoshop is the premiere editing software for all digital artists. Take your images above and beyond what you previously thought possible using this advanced software. Change colors, composite photographs, remove objects, sculpt tonality, and polish your images for final output. Whatever your goals, this program is there to enhance and manipulate your imagery.

While Photoshop is an incredibly powerful tool, it can also be overwhelming. Photographers too often know the main features of the software, but struggle to see how to apply them in their own creative work. This next step workshop focuses strictly on developing your images in Photoshop. Over the span of six, online class sessions, you learn how to process your images to their full potential.

An accomplished photographer and an expert in Adobe Photoshop, Zach Taylor guides you on a technically based journey to build a solid foundation in image development. Zach’s process stems from his fine-art education and his desire to help you make the imagery you want to see exist in the world.

In each of the six group sessions, Zach demonstrates his developing strategies and techniques on participant’s images. He asks you what you wish to achieve in the image and then shows you how he might get to the end goal. There is much to be learned as he “works” your image as well the other images in real time.

Each group session consists of two blocks allocated to developing two participant’s images. These are followed by a 15-minute lectures featuring Zach’s “technique of the day,” as well as an exercise for you to work on before the next class session.

By the end of this workshop, you emerge with a strong understanding of how to critically analyze and process your images using Adobe Photoshop. This workshop is designed for experienced Photoshop users. If you wish to learn the basics of Photoshop, consider taking Zach’s The Essentials: A Guide to Adobe Photoshop from February 8-25.
