Assignment: Altered Images

© Nadezda Nikolova

Our next Creativity Continues assignment goes beyond the surface as the artist intervenes by exploring the idea of altered images. Aline Smithson—visual artist, educator, editor, and founder of LENSCRATCH—gives a free lecture, reviews the submitted images, and chooses her favorite 20 to discuss on June 2.

Participants can submit up to 5 images for this assignment by May 20 at 5pm MT. Then, on Wednesday evening, June 2, Aline Smithson will reveal her 20 selected images and share insights into what makes for a compelling altered image. There is no fee to participate in our Altered Images assignment.
