Editing images has become synonymous with photography in the digital age. What if you could spend less time behind the computer editing and more time out taking photographs while still accomplishing the look that you want? Presets and picture profiles have existed since digital cameras were created, but they are rarely a sufficient alternative to editing – until now.
Fujifilm introduced film simulations to its camera lineup many years ago. These simulations alone are enough to capture captivating images right in camera, but thanks to a growing community of users, there’s even more you can do to customize the images you create right in camera. These are known as Recipes. Recipes are essentially picture presets that you can develop yourself or adapt from other creators with more creative control. Recipes are a really fun way to experiment with different styles, looks, colors, contrast, and much more right in the field.
This new online workshop with Alex Armitage guides you through all things Fujifilm Recipes. Alex helps you create your own recipes, where to discover new recipes, and best practices for using recipes in the field. You also spend time getting your camera setup to streamline your photography experience by customizing your button layouts, setting up your custom menus for different recipes, and recommending settings for all types of photography.
The workshop consists of four sessions over two weeks, allowing you the opportunity to ask questions along the way and practice in between sessions. By the end of your time with Alex, you are set up to spend more time getting images you enjoy right in camera, rather than being required to spend hours in front of a computer screen editing. You also come away with a much deeper understanding of setting up your Fujifilm camera and utilizing it more efficiently in the field.

Santa Fe Workshops always aims to produce a high-quality experience for our online attendees. That said, variables including regional and local internet provider speeds, traffic on Zoom's servers, and your own computing hardware can contribute to a less than ideal streaming event. While we do our best to minimize the impact of these variables, they are outside the control of Santa Fe Workshops.

For the convenience of participants, recordings of each class session are posted privately for one month after the end of each session. Santa Fe Workshops takes the recordings down after one month to protect the intellectual property of our instructors.
Alex Armitage is an international award-winning landscape photographer who is currently nomadic. Having spent the last four years living on the road to explore some of nature’s spectacular beauty while simultaneously finding himself on a healing road from events within his life. Through this journey he’s cultivated a deeper connection within nature, discovering the therapeutic power of photography as both an artistic medium and a means of rejuvenation. Alex’s work attempts to capture more than a scene, attempting to uncover deeper narratives within each photograph. These stories continue to evolve as his perspective does.
Many of these stories are told through his YouTube channel which has seen numerous transformations over the last four years. A constant throughout it all has been the pursuit of exploring photography with deeper meaning and attempting to discover more about the artistry within himself.
