Course Description

Set the stage for more believable yet magical digital collages using Adobe Photoshop with Maggie Taylor as your guide. In this two-day webinar, she walks you through the techniques she has perfected over the years in order to create a stage set and populating it with an act. Using photographed and scanned elements from a variety of sources, paying attention to light and shadows, and working with color are all part of this adventure in creative compositing. Each program consists of an hour-and-a-half of demos and presentations by Maggie focused on her Adobe Photoshop techniques, with the final 30 minutes set aside for your questions.

After each of Maggie’s 2-hour programs on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, you will be able to download the same files she used and a set of instructions. You may also re-watch the Zoom sessions as you build the image on your own. The goal is for you to be able to fully grasp these Photoshop techniques, that are some of Maggie’s favorites, so that you can use them in your own digital composites.

For those who participated in Maggie’s SFW: Perspectives presentation in October 2020, Compositing Practice with Maggie is a more narrowly-focused, technique-based program for a smaller audience of experienced Adobe Photoshop users, and lets you put into practice some of the techniques Maggie shared in her earlier presentation. For those who are new to Adobe Photoshop, Maggie is teaching a beginner’s guide to creative compositing on March 10 and 13. Click HERE to learn more about the March webinar.
