Course Description

Delve into the captivating fusion of human-made structures and the vast beauty of the natural world with lens-based artist, Serena Dzenis. This online workshop is designed for both budding photographers seeking to refine their skills and more accomplished storytellers eager to explore the dynamic intersection of photographing architecture and landscapes. Through a blend of theory, hands-on practice, and constructive feedback, participants embark on a visual journey, discovering how to capture the essence of structures within the tapestry of nature.

Throughout our six weeks together, we unravel the art of storytelling in architectural landscape photography. You learn to recognize the unique narratives embedded in structures and their surroundings, mastering techniques to seamlessly integrate human creations into the broader context of landscapes. From historic monuments to contemporary designs, we explore how architectural elements can serve as powerful protagonists, guiding viewers through a visual narrative that transcends time and culture.

We engage in practical exercises, honing your compositional skills, mastering lighting techniques, and experimenting with perspectives that bring architectural stories to life within diverse landscapes. Through group critiques and discussions, we refine your storytelling abilities, learning to convey a sense of place, history, and emotion through your photographic work.
