Course Description

Ryn Clarke is an experimental artist known for her magical “garden of delights” floral composites, and in this three-week online workshop, she shows participants how to create the illusion of a new reality using using images created by any mobile device and Adobe Photoshop.

During each hands-on two-hour session, she illuminates the ins and out of her inventive techniques, sharing the tools that enable you to produce visual magic tricks. And just as it is with a magic trick, those techniques must be flawless or the illusion is lost!

Using creative Photoshop strategies that make your composites more engaging, we explore ways to use visualization, light, coloring, and blending modes. We also take a look at special apps and plugins specifically geared toward compositing and discover the amazing hidden features of your iPhone that elevate your imagery.

As you experiment with AI-generated art programs, you discover even more pathways to creative expression—all while developing a series of composite images that demonstrate your progression and understanding.

Whether you are new to composite photography or want to expand the skills you already have, you come away with an expansive virtual tool chest and the know-how to assemble your own fantastical botanicals.
