Course Description

As photographers, we all have started projects that are asking to be finished. Now is a good time to unearth one of these “beginnings” and push it through to a final body of work. Honing a new or existing body of work is far less challenging when working collectively in a well-organized group of passionate photographers.

This online workshop with fine-art photographer, Susan Burnstine, gives each participant the skills to create an intentional and dynamic portfolio. Each class begins with a thoughtful presentation covering creating sequencing with intent, artist statements, and final portfolio refinement. These information-packed sessions are followed by weekly reviews of students’ individual projects. Participants also work together in this collaborative environment and learn how to talk about their work with the group while personally benefiting from Susan’s experience and wisdom putting projects and portfolios together.

Weekly assignments focus on individual portfolio development processes. The last class on October 23 culminates in final portfolio reviews by Susan.

By the end of the four weeks, students have the skills needed to create a unique, intentional, and thoughtful portfolio of images.
