Now is the perfect time to visit Cuba and enjoy the warm breezes and visual treats of this tropical isle. Its gracious people are ready to welcome U.S. travelers with open arms after a difficult autumn of hurricanes and travel warnings. This winter, extend the hand of friendship to our neighbors to the south and experience the Cuba of your dreams and imagination.
With new travel regulations in place as of November 10, 2017, group travel to Cuba with a licensed organization is fully legal for U.S. citizens while individual travel for people-to-people cultural exchange is banned. Santa Fe Photographic Workshops is an experienced leader for group travel to Cuba and is authorized and licensed by Department of the Treasury.
Explore and discover authentic Cuba with us. In addition to Havana, culturally sophisticated Camagüey is home base for programs. Settled in 1528, it’s Cuba’s third largest city and a place of beauty, culture, and artistic tradition. The city’s delightful historic center, considered the largest and most well preserved on the island, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008. Camagüey is well known for its labyrinthine layout of narrow, twisting streets and irregular blocks that surprise and inspire travelers with hidden architectural gems, small plazas, and friendly residents. From Camagüey, the social and cultural core of the province, we travel to an even slower lifestyle in the nearby farming villages and seaside towns that take you to a world seemingly unchanged for the past fifty years.
In alliance with Cuba’s premier photographic organization, Fototeca de Cuba, and its director, Nelson Ramírez, our unique programs allow U.S. participants to learn about Cuba’s long and colorful history and engage directly with Cubans from all walks of life. Over the last seven years we have discovered places and people no other organization has access to. Our trips to Cuba offer our travelers unique experiences that are authentically Cuban.
Our small group sizes encourage compelling educational and photographic experiences. Each program is led by a world-renowned photographer who contributes their instruction and insights. English-speaking Cuban photographers assist and provide expertise to the programs; their local knowledge is the passport to experiencing Cuba well beyond that of the average visitor.
Since 2010 we have taken more than 1,500 photographers to explore this astonishing island nation. The Workshops' educational programs offer unique access to the backstage of Cuba and focus on interactions with its engaging and generous people while recording their amazing lives with our cameras. It is through these personal exchanges that true understanding between peoples is born, not through isolation and restrictions.
Live the dream and join us for a memorable journey to Cuba this winter.
True to the requirements of a people-to-people General License with U.S. Treasury Department, our programs in Cubafocus on educational exchanges with the Cuban people and recording their amazing lives with our cameras.
