Amy Gigi Alexander is a writer, editor, publisher, and geo-cultural explorer with an emphasis on travel writing, landscapes, pilgrimage, and psychogeography. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the British literary journal Panorama: The Journal of Intelligent Travel, the publisher of the international press, Panoramic Publishing.
An honored member of the Explorer's Club and a three-time Solas-award winner, Gigi’s expertise lies in the transformative travel essay, of which she has published more than a hundred, many of which are included in travel anthologies such as Lonely Planet's An Innocent Abroad and the Best Travel Writing series by Travelers' Tales. She has taught travel and place-based writing workshops around the world, from Tanzania to Portugal. Her writing has appeared worldwide, from literary journals to commercial publications, and is included in a dozen collections.
Gigi believes travel writing is a pendulum that can sway the reader, and the change the world. Her forthcoming collection, Oranges and Roses: Twenty-one Journeys to Elsewhere, will be published in November of 2021. She lives in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
