Santa Fe Workshops collection of free online events, Creativity Continues features a special Saturday afternoon in January with photographer Martin Parr. Martin Parr is a chronicler of our age. In the face of the constantly growing flood of images released by the media, his photographs offer us the opportunity to see the world from his unique perspective. Parr’s work is infused with a distinctive wit and sense of irony and enables us to see things that have seemed familiar to us in a completely new way. He is known for his use of garish colors and esoteric composition.
Parr has published over 100 books of his own work and edited another 30. His work has appeared in solo and group exhibitions around the world. Parr has also curated many acclaimed shows. As photographer, filmmaker, curator, editor and the most prolific photo book collector, Parr has defined a generation.
During this one hour talk, followed by a Q&A, Parr presents “Photobiography,” discussing the development of his ideas over his long career in photography.
Creativity Continues is a program that collectively develops creative voices by offering connection and encouraging expression.
