Course Description

In a world that moves at lightning speed, photography captures fleeting moments, but the vibrant flow of life and chaos all around us often escapes the frame. With just a flip of a switch, our cameras unlock the dynamic realm of video, allowing us to connect with wildlife and our surroundings in exciting new ways.

This workshop with Kristi Odom offers an exciting exploration of techniques that transform video into art. Participants uncover the enchanting beauty of nature through slow motion, capturing its intricate details and rhythms. The class also covers the creation of moving stills, and blending photography and videography in innovative ways. With practical insights and student assignments, this workshop inspires creativity and encourages participants to express their unique visions without feeling overwhelmed. Embrace the art of video and unlock new dimensions of storytelling!

Key topics include harnessing the power of slow motion, learning essential video settings, acquiring basic editing skills to polish footage, crafting short video art pieces, preparing videos for sharing, and navigating audio libraries (note: capturing sound is not included). Utilizing Adobe Premiere Pro, participants should have a camera or phone capable of shooting in slow motion (minimum 60fps, 120fps preferred). This exciting journey into the art of video invites students to discover how to bring their creative ideas to life.
