Course Description

Your best work is only a breath away. Join artist Heather Walsh for this online workshop with four group sessions as she guides the industrious photographer in using Immersive Guided Meditation as a quick and powerful tool to access your abundant source of creativity.

Heather shares with you how this simple practice builds self-trust so that you have the clarity, confidence, and courage needed to thrive as a contemporary photographer. By eliminating cognitive congestion and emotional static, you learn to use guided meditation techniques to enhance your creative practices and elevate your current work. In this process you naturally and easily build an inspirational habit of using short, guided meditations to connect to your intuition and create an empowered relationship with your creativity.

Each session, Heather leads you through creative meditations for photographers that boost your creativity, followed by post-meditation photography exercises and writing prompts to strengthen your creativity and forge a path that’s flourishing with rewarding opportunities. In addition, Heather offers a private 30-minute one-on-one session with each participant.

This gentle nurturing approach to your creative practice gives you a deep sense of inner calm, making it easier to move through the stress and anxiety of being a creative person. During the workshop you remove blocks to discover your true potential and invoke the creation of your most authentic and unique work.

about
Heather Walsh

Heather Walsh is a lens-based artist whose creative practice is a balance between documentary and fine-art photography. For over a decade, Heather has worked as a photojournalist documenting stories about our shared humanity. Her clients include The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, NPR, and others. She is a member of Women Photograph.

During the pandemic, Heather began exploring the more shadowy parts of her life through mixed-media photography. Her diverse artistic practice transcends traditional boundaries and focuses its gaze on the resiliency of loss. As she prepared for her first fine-art photography exhibition of “Fly Over Landscapes,” at the Griffin Museum of Photography, she discovered the power of guided meditation to work through creative anxiety and access an abundance of creativity, clarity, and courage to express her unique artistic vision. Klompching Gallery recognized her project “Fly Over Landscapes” as a FRESH 2022 Finalist.

Heather’s creative practice includes university and museum teaching experience, and she is an Advocate for Creative Wellness in the photography community. She is passionate about teaching others how to find more joy and deeper meaning as image makers.
