Course Description

Photographing in a foreign country is an exhilarating, and often even life-changing, experience. Keith Carter has spent more than 25 years photographing in and around the lovely Mexican colonial town of San Miguel de Allende and he has found that not a day goes by in this charming pueblito without something to delight the eye, tantalize the senses, or expand the consciousness. San Miguel is the perfect catalyst for creating expressive portraits, landscapes, still lifes, or architectural images.

This workshop is designed to elevate your sense of personal aesthetics, renew your creative spirit, and broaden the way you think about photography. Emphasizing simplicity, we share practical demonstrations, field trips, and discussions centering on the work of both historically significant and little known photographers. We will examine expressive darkroom & digital printmaking techniques. Our goal is to make serious amateur, fine-art, and commercial work more passionate and fulfilling. All camera formats welcome. Everyone is encouraged to bring a sense of humor and a sense of purpose.
