Course Description

What is the allure to the world of botanicals? Is it their tantalizing palette of color? Is it the mystery of the shapes intertwining together to make worlds within? Is it the patterns or textures? How can we see florals for what they are and for what they could be? In this new in-person workshop in magical Santa Fe, we are exploring the visual beauty of florals to create art that echos the voices that resonate and celebrate in nature.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with the artist Leanne Trivett S., to explore photographing botanicals and to go further through experimentation to create unique artwork. By trying new camera techniques, playing with the abstract, exploring ICM and multiple exposures, and working in personal still life and journaling, we begin to recreate the essence of what these subjects unveil to us. We use our five senses and ideas of color to explore emotion and dramatic story. Our time together is spent making photographs, viewing creative and inspiring art in presentations, and working individually and together in small groups on assignments. Inspiration comes to the surface while visiting local gardens and parks as well as galleries and museums, in true Santa Fe Style.

Leanne cultivates a safe and supportive classroom environment for participants to experiment and try new things. She also provides her style of gentle coaching to encourage individual artistic voices to be heard. Join us to explore a new way to look at florals and find the inspiration to turn your photographs into living, breathing art.

This is an incredible meeting of creative minds to explore everything botanical. This brand-new workshop welcomes everyone, including alumni that have taken classes with Leanne before. You will not want to miss this fascinating opportunity and journey to the rarefied air of Santa Fe and further explore the allure of botanicals.
