Course Description

Continuously improving your craft is a tried-and-true method for strengthening your storytelling and taking it to a higher level. Under the guidance of Nikon Ambassador Kristi Odom, participants are shown how to elevate their images by using a wide range of camera techniques, all around some of Santa Fe’s most scenic locations! Lectures and demonstrations offer lessons that help you advance your camera skills through creative challenges, ultimately elevating your photography to a new level.

Our subject matter for this workshop is the wildlife and expansive plant world in and around Santa Fe. From the patterns on an insect’s eye, a bird in flight, and a flower’s unfolding pedals — there truly is beauty all around us. The workshop dive deep into the technical and creative use of macro and telephoto photography to put your own unique voice into your images of bugs, birds, and plants.

Each day begins with a lecture by Kristi, providing new tools, techniques, and inspiration. Then we head out into the field to create images with our new-found skills. The following day, group image reviews led by Kristi offer a great opportunity for participants to share their work and receive valuable feedback.

By expanding and strengthening your technical and creative camera skills, you become a more confident photographer, storyteller, and artist. Join Kristi for an adventuresome workshop week that helps you connect with the stunning natural world that surrounds us.
