Event Date: Thur, Feb 9, 2023 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM MST

Santa Fe Workshops collection of free online events, Creativity Continues, features a special evening in February with photographer Patty Carroll. An artist well known for her super-saturated color images of Americana, her Anonymous Woman project is a 3-part series of studio installations made for the camera, addressing women and their complicated relationships with domesticity. By camouflaging the figure in drapery and/or domestic objects, Patty creates a dark and humorous game of hide-and-seek between her viewers and the “anonymous woman.”

Patty reveals, “growing up in suburban Chicago provides the basis of my work, which addresses myths of domestic perfection. I am photographically creating worlds that critique and satirize claustrophobic expectations that women continue to embrace, in spite of contemporary life and careers.” Join our SFW community for this engaging evening with Patty as she shares the creation of her Anonymous Woman series. Even if you can’t make the live program, a recording of it will be available for all those registered.

Creativity Continues is a way to connect, encouraging expression, and is a collective way to develop creative voices. The goal is to engage all within our creative community. We encourage extending invitations and sharing Santa Fe Workshops Creativity Continues events with any whom express an interest.
