The charming colonial town of San Miguel de Allende is consistently recognized as one of the world’s great cities. Travel + Leisure readers named it #1—the world's best city in both 2018 and 2017! In 2014, Conde Nast Traveler readers named San Miguel the #1 travel destination in the world.
Located in the historic, central highlands of Mexico, San Miguel offers a gracious and safe environment for exploring the culture of this vibrant town while pursuing your creativity and personal style in workshops with seasoned workshop instructors.
Since 2001, Hotel Posada de la Aldea, an enchanting hotel complex just blocks from San Miguel's historic central plaza, has been home base, with our administration and operations offices, classrooms, a restaurant, and comfortable accommodations for our travelers. La Aldea's extensive grounds—featuring gardens, fountains, a swimming pool, and secluded courtyards—provide a stimulating setting for your photographic discoveries.
Join us for an unforgettable photographic experience in the beautiful setting of San Miguel de Allende.
NEW IN 2019! We will be offering a Writers Lab workshop each week in San Miguel de Allende, along with two photography workshops. Details on all of our Fall 2019 workshops will be posted in early 2019. Writers Pam Houston, Rolf Potts, and Luís Alberto Urrea are scheduled to join photographers Keith Carter, Andrew Eccles, Sam Abell, Arthur Meyerson, Aline Smithson, Jennifer Spelman and Michael Amici for an exciting season of inspiration, learning, and developing your personal craft.
ONCE AGAIN IN 2019: Santa Fe Workshops will be offering a Day of the Dead workshop in Oaxaca. Like San Miguel de Allende, Oaxaca is also a UNESCO world heritage site, and both locations host widespread and traditional Day of the Dead celebrations. Watch for details on both of these workshops to be posted in early 2019.
