about Julieta

Hi! I’m Julieta Beltran Barza, and I’m an Online Facilitator at SFW. I’m the one making sure our online classes run smoothly, coordinating with instructors, keeping everything organized, and ensuring students have everything they need so they can focus on the creative part and enjoy the experience. I also assist instructors with the in-person workshops in San Miguel de Allende, so if you’ve signed up for any of those this year, you’ll find me there too!

I’m Mexican, born and raised in Mexico City! Later, I moved to San Miguel de Allende to finish my Visual Arts degree, where I focused on photography. But honestly, photography has been a part of my life forever… my dad always carried a camera, so the camera became my sidekick before I even realized it could be a career.

Now, I work in food photography (a very smart move for a full-time foodie), and I love translating flavor into image. Showing my culture through textures, color, markets, messy hands, beautiful ingredients is what inspires me. I’m also really into projects that connect art with everyday life: I’ve worked with plenty of local organic farms, community-based events, and I’m always looking into any projects that can help people get to know my culture more!

Outside of SFW and shooting, you’ll usually find me exploring markets, collecting visual inspiration, planning my next creative project, or hunting down the best meal in town. I hope to meet you soon!
