COVID-19 Update: For all in-person workshops and trips, Santa Fe Workshops requires that all participants attending be fully vaccinated (per definition of the CDC) and provide proof of vaccination. This requirement applies to students, staff, and instructors.
The Poetry of Perception workshop is an advanced-level class open to a select group of participants. Renowned photographer and educator Keith Carter leads an excursion into your personal creative lives, re-examining your processes, distilling your narrative and individual aesthetic, and reinforcing the technical aspects of image making you need control over. The focus of the workshop is expanding and refining new paths to sustained creative growth.
Your week in lovely Santa Fe provides a combination of field trips, group portfolio reviews, sharing your own history and autobiography, the continued development of projects, exhibitions, and discussions regarding the ever-changing gallery and publishing world. We cover both historical and contemporary processes, evocative printmaking techniques, editing and sequencing of bodies of work, and the creation and dissemination of photographic projects. All camera formats, digital and analog, are welcome.
Keith’s goal is to help each participant rediscover and sustain joy in the work itself, refine a distinctive style, and to make the creation of compelling bodies of work more passionate and fulfilling.
Working knowledge of digital workflow and manual mode on your digital SLR or mirrorless camera. Participants must be able to download, select, and transfer images to their own jump drive for class each day.
