Getting the Most from Your Nikon Z9 Mirrorless Camera

with Lindsay Silverman

March 24 – April 4, 2022

Thursdays and Mondays; 9:30 – 11:30 am (Mountain Time)

  • Tuition $450.00

Course Description

Nikon reinvented mirrorless technology in 2018 with the introduction of its full-frame Z6 and Z7 cameras. They have since added a Z5, Z6II, Z7II, and a wide variety of NIKKOR Z Series lenses. Nikon has recently added the Z 9 mirrorless digital camera body — a fast, powerful flagship camera. Now is the perfect time to take an online workshop designed to give you the skills necessary to take advantage of this extraordinary camera system with the help of Lindsay Silverman, a longtime Nikon team member and photographer who has worked with the Z Series cameras since their introduction and was a consultant during the Z9 launch.

This workshop helps you understand the best ways to use the technology found exclusively in the Z9 to achieve maximum results for your creative image making. If you own Nikon Z system camera or recently purchased a Nikon Z9, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore the Z9’s mirrorless technology.

This four-session practical online program takes you deep into the customization and controls of the camera including the ability of the AF system to automatically detect and track a large range of subjects; people, dogs, cats, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, trains, and planes — in stills and video. Learn how Eye Detection AF can automatically track the eyes of people, dogs, cats, and birds (and similar creatures) even when they’re small in the frame, covered by hair, glasses or goggles, right-side up or upside down. Z9 is the first Nikon mirrorless camera to offer Nikon’s acclaimed 3D Tracking with deep learning subject detection. Effortlessly lock onto fast-moving subjects and track them moving toward you, away from you and everywhere in between.

Lindsay moves you beyond the instruction manual and helps you find the hidden gems that lie within the Nikon Z9. Topics covered include settings for stills, understanding crop modes and when to use them, shooting with the Z9’s great EVF, using picture controls for new creativity, frame rates, silent shooting, ISO options, and many other controls.

Lindsay also discusses NIKKOR Z lenses and the FTZ mount adapter, control ring features on NIKKOR Z lenses, in-camera VR image stabilization using NIKKOR Z lenses versus the FTZ mount adapter, to name just a sampling of the subjects covered in this information-packed workshop. If you are ready to get the most from your Nikon Z9, there can be no doubt that this is the workshop for you!
