With our lives at a virtual standstill, the urge to travel is still strong for many of us — yet, for now, it is a dream as we remain homebound. Let travel photographer extraordinaire Nevada Wier regale you with stories of her exotic adventures and the resulting images, while teaching you the finer points of how to be a more creative photographer on the road, in a series of fascinating, live presentations.
Travel photography requires the combination of technical expertise, culture competence, intuitive awareness, curiosity, and a dash of panache. Nevada shares three of her iconic lectures on creativity and travel photography, while weaving stories from her 40+ career exploring the far corners of the globe.
In Session One, Nevada focuses on how to photograph at all times of the day (or night), even in some of the harshest light, to create beautiful images you know exist and your mind imagines, but your technical expertise is lacking. In the second session, Nevada dissects ways to see more creatively and “photographically”, as well as tips on using color powerfully. In the last session, Nevada discusses how to approach and photograph people in foreign lands to create natural, respectful, and unique portraits.
Join Nevada for three hours that will elevate your aesthetic vision and expand your photographic skills in order to capture an image that rises above the usual travel clichés — whenever travel and photography are combined again.
A 10 to 15 minute Question and Answer session follows each daily presentation. Questions from the participants will be reviewed and a few selected during this informal wrap-up conversation.
Open to anyone interested in this special program.
Class will meet from 12:00 - 1:00 pm Mountain Time, July 28, July 30, and July 31 (Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday). You can participate in this seminar even if you can’t make one or all of the live events. Paid participants will have until 9 a.m. Mountain Time, Monday, August 3 to access the online presentations; no further extensions available.
Zoom Video Conferencing software (available for no charge from Zoom.com) will be used to facilitate the class sessions. Further details will be emailed to registrants.
Santa Fe Workshops always aims to produce a high-quality experience for our online attendees. That said, variables including regional and local internet provider speeds, traffic on Zoom's servers, and your own computing hardware can contribute to a less than ideal streaming event. While we do our best to minimize the impact of these variables, they are outside the control of Santa Fe Workshops. If the video quality for a particular online experience is not up to our standards, we will work to post a higher-quality recording, online, for your review shortly after the live event concludes.

For the convenience of participants, recordings of each class session are posted privately for two weeks after the end of each session. Santa Fe Workshops takes the recordings down after two weeks to protect the intellectual property of our instructors.
