Max Talley has had seventy stories or essays published since 2015; local outlets for his writing include Santa Fe Literary Review and Santa Fe Writers Project. He won the 2021 best fiction contest in Jerry Jazz Musician for “Celestial Vagabonds,” later nominated for a Pushcart Prize. His first novel, Yesterday We Forget Tomorrow, was published in 2014. In 2022, both his crime thriller, Santa Fe Psychosis, and short story collection, My Secret Place, were published. Each summer, Max teaches at the Santa Barbara Writers Conference, and as a former editor for the Santa Barbara Literary Journal, he is always on the lookout for promising writing.
