Two Artists, Two Journeys, One Shared Vision with Patricia Beary and Sandra Carrion

Santa Fe Workshops collection of free online events, Creativity Continues, features a special presentation with fine-art photographers Patricia Beary and Sandra Carrion, whose shared curiosity and spirit of experimentation have shaped both their individual practices and their creative partnership.

Through images and personal stories, Patricia and Sandra reflect on the work that first drew them to photography and the projects they’re creating today. They share how their ideas have evolved over time, what continues to inspire them, and how they’re constantly discovering new possibilities within the photographic image.

They also introduce a collaborative project that grew out of their friendship and shared creative interests, reflecting on how working together has challenged and inspired each of them. As artists who also teach, they discuss how working with students often leads them back to their own work with fresh questions and new perspectives.

Patricia Beary is a fine art photographer based on Long Island, New York, whose painterly, abstract photographs draw inspiration from the Pictorialist movement. Sandra Carrion is a fine art photographer based in New York whose experimental work transforms everyday subjects into imaginative, unexpected images. Together, they co-founded the Image Factory Experimental Photography Workshops and continue to teach, exhibit, and support photographers through their work as artists and educators.

The program concludes as Patricia and Sandra engage in a live Q&A with the webinar audience. For those unable to attend live, a recording is available to all registered participants.
