Good food provides a feast not only for the palate but also the eyes, and for more than 11 years Tracy Benjamin has made people hungry by sharing her love affair with food.
Over four information-packed and fun-filled days, she teaches you how to entice others with your own images of food, sharing secrets for producing beautiful photographs at any location: a farmers’ market, restaurant, food truck, social event, or at home. Each locale presents different challenges, from lighting and styling to gaining access to the people behind the scenes.
You learn how to construct your own portable “MacGyver” food-styling kit, filled with tools, props, makeshift scrims, and other tricks of the trade—all fitting into a good-size purse or messenger bag for easy portability. Get out your tweezers and spray bottles as you learn how everyday items can be used to take your food styling up a few notches!
We also make an outing to the world-famous Santa Fe Farmers’ Market, and with our market haul we explore several different food photography styles through hands-on demonstrations. And no trip to Santa Fe would be complete without visiting a selection of cafes and restaurants, where you’re given a chance to photograph (and eat) some fantastic local dishes.
How can we take consistently stunning pictures of food? By continually falling in love with our subject. Join Tracy to discover how to do exactly that.
