Arthur Sze is an internationally recognized poet, translator, and editor. He has published ten books of poetry, including Archipelago, The Redshifting Web, Quipu, The Ginkgo Light, Compass Rose, and Sight Lines, all with Copper Canyon Press. Some of his awards include the Jackson Poetry Prize from Poets & Writers, a Lannan Literary Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and two National Endowment for the Arts Creative Writing fellowships.
As a professor emeritus at the Institute of American Indian Arts, he has extensive teaching experience with Native students and has also taught at writing conferences across the country. His other books include The Silk Dragon: Translations from the Chinese, Chinese Writers on Writing, and a collaboration with sculptor Susan York, The Unfolding Center. He likes to teach workshops that inspire participants to develop greater insight and imaginative command of language and to take risks and develop new areas of artistic inquiry.
