Now is the perfect time to bring calm and creativity into your world through the enriching pursuit of poetry. This online workshop with writer, teacher, editor, critic, and publisher Kristina Marie Darling is intended to expand your sense of what is possible in poetry.
Together, we consider the ways poetry overlaps and intersects with other literary genres, as well as its rich and varied relationship to the visual arts. To that end, we discuss types of innovative writing that are seldom taught in creative writing classes, such as poet/artist collaborations, cinepoetry, the prose poem, flash fiction, and "found forms" such as footnote poems, glossary poems, and other templates that are not germane to poetry.
Kristina’s dynamic group sessions include writing prompts and detailed discussions of each participant’s writing. In addition, we examine work by contemporary innovators such as Kate Greenstreet, Jenny Boully, Kristy Bowen, Simone Muench, Yedda Morrison, and Ronald Johnson). This workshop offers an opportunity to experiment, learn about new ways of writing, and to see yourself as part of a community of working poets.
