Digital cameras offer endless creative opportunities—this course teaches you how to use them. Whether you recently acquired your first digital camera or have owned one for years, Brandon Johnson empowers you to take control of its features and advance your skills. Designed like a hands-on user manual, this workshop provides you with the know-how to utilize all the digital camera's capabilities and enhance your images with Adobe Lightroom, so they can be more easily shared.
Through daily assignments in and around Santa Fe's inspiring environments, Brandon patiently guides participants through the variables of aperture, shutter speed, camera settings and modes. You will learn how to incorporate these tools using different lenses while exploring composition and lighting techniques that result in more interesting and powerful images.
Mornings are devoted to organizing, editing, and enhancing your images in Lightroom; we also engage in lectures, discussions, and critiques of the previous day’s work. Afternoons are spent photographing a variety of subjects with a more mindful eye. As the week progresses, we chose select images to print.
Treat yourself to five exciting days mastering the basics of digital photography and cultivating your creativity in an energetic and supportive atmosphere. Participants come away with a firm understanding of their camera's manual mode and an established workflow using Lightroom, returning home with a collection of images that reflect their new expertise.
