Take that joyous first step into your future as a digital photographer—whether you are a long-time film shooter or just getting started in photography—in one of our most popular workshops. Designed to help you break through technical barriers and launch you into a new realm of creating great photographs, this 5-day workshop covers the technical side of resolution, downloading and re-sizing images, file management and archiving, and output/printing sources. With this technical foundation, you then discover the practice of seeing.
Under Rick’s guidance, you explore shutter speeds, apertures, and shooting modes. He shares tips and techniques about composition, lighting, lenses, and creativity that help you see the world with new eyes and capture images with impact. Field trips around beautiful Santa Fe and daily assignments encourage the deepening of your digital photography skills.
Rick creates a fun atmosphere for learning the technical processes of digital photography, and playful expression is encouraged. By the workshop’s end, you are using your camera in manual mode with ease and exploring the wonderfully creative side of photography!
