Creative expression is a way to reconnect with ourselves, and then with others. As we adjust to this new way of being, we find that connecting through creativity is more important than ever. Santa Fe Workshops has always brought people together for collective inspiration and growth. Last month, we launched Creativity Continues, a collective way to further develop our creative voices. Our first call for entries, "Reflecting On," generated a lot of enthusiasm and we had creative submissions from photographers worldwide.
Our second initiative, Windows, starts today. While spring is generally a time of renewal, many of us are experiencing it looking out from the inside, through our windows, as we are encouraged to stay inside. How is this time informing our daily experiences? What does it mean when our inside spaces represent both safety and confinement? We invite you to submit a photograph that might lend some visual commentary on this idea. Your entry, one per individual, should be emailed to us at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Friday, May 1. In addition, we encourage you to post your Windows image to your Instagram account with the hashtag #creativitycontinues and @santafeworkshops. Images need to be at least 18oo pixels on the longest side at 300 dpi in order to be reviewed. There is no entry fee.
In mid-May, one of our world-class workshop instructors will pick 20 images from the email submissions and we will livecast their selections on Zoom, where you will hear their insights into what makes for an engaging and memorable image. It is an event you will not want to miss so stay tuned to our Instagram (@santafeworkshops) for more details.
We can't wait to connect with you and your vision, and see your images!
Dialing in Your Digital Workflow with Michael Clark
Michael Clark, a nationally in-demand commercial photographer focused on adventure sports, will be teaching Dialing in Your Digital Workflow. In his two-session class, Michael cuts through the complexity of using both Lightroom and Photoshop, sharing his process to produce beautiful images. This online program is open for enrollment and begins on Monday, April 27.
SFW Online is where you engage with The Workshops when you can't visit us in Santa Fe. To offer you continued connection with our world-class instructors, we are streaming classes taught by the same world-class instructors who inspire you in Santa Fe. Through a curated experience in Zoom, we offer a stimulating and creative learning community. While not the same as visiting us in person, SFW Online is the next best immersive experience.
