How many times have we heard how digital technology has made it super-easy for anyone to make a great photograph? Undoubtedly, digital technology has made the process of image-making more accessible, yet the essence of great photography has not changed. A great image is a rare confluence of story, subject, and lighting, all under the orchestration of a master conductor. Relying on technology alone in the practice of photography leads to mediocrity. Yet, applied masterfully, the right technology skills can amplify artistic vision and story, creating memorable images. This is what Michael Clark is all about.
Michael combined his addiction to adrenaline sports, photography, with his voracious intellect to building a career creating jaw-dropping photography. Most recently, he has been working with lighting manufacturer Elinchrom on perfecting their Hi-Sync technology. With this system, a photographer can literally overpower the sun at twenty feet using a 400-watt strobe — incredible!
Come experience Michael in person when he teaches Cutting-Edge Lighting Techniques from March 15-20. We would love to see you in Santa Fe!
