Brad Temkin is best-known for his photographs of contemporary landscapes. His work is held in the permanent collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, Milwaukee Art Museum, Amon Carter Museum, Museum of Contemporary Photography, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, among others. His images have appeared in such publications as Aperture, Black & White Magazine, Time Magazine, and European Photography. Brad was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2017 and an Illinois Arts Council Fellowship in 2007. He has published three books: Private Places: Photographs of Chicago Gardens (2005), Rooftop (2016), and The State of Water (2019). He has taught at Columbia College Chicago since 1984.
