Tyrone Turner is a photographer who focuses on the human and natural landscape, delving into important but often overlooked visual stories. He has worked around the world but returns regularly to his native Louisiana to continue uncovering hidden narratives. His prize-winning images have been recognized by Pictures of the Year, the Soros Foundation, and the Virginia Museum of Fine Art; clients have included National Geographic, The New York Times, Apple, the World Food Programme, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Tyrone is currently the visuals editor/photographer for WAMU in Washington, D.C. He is a regular contributor to NPR and instructs for National Geographic Photocamps.
