Kelly Barnhill is a New York Times bestselling author and a teacher, who has authored four novels for children, one collection for adults, thirteen nonfiction books, and around forty short stories. She was awarded the McKnight Artist Fellowship in Children's Literature, as well as grants from the Jerome Foundation and the Minnesota State Arts Board. She's been a finalist for the Andre Norton Award, a Minnesota Book Award, and a PEN/USA Literary Prize. Kelly’s work has received a Charlotte Huck Honor, a Parents’ Choice Gold Award, a Texas Bluebonnet Award, and a World Fantasy Award.
