Shinya B has worked as a broadcasting journalist and a multi-media artist for more than 20 years, including covering the 2011 earthquake in northern Japan for NBC News. Shinya has explored the possibility of cyber media as a way of living one's life, and his research and practice later led cyber media into the world of blogs and Facebook. He continues pushing the application of technology and, after spending the past three years studying and using omnidirectional virtual reality photography and video, he is in the midst of completing a book on this revolutionary approach to photographic thought.
Shinya resides in Tokyo, Japan, where he teaches photography and design as an Associate Professor of Art at Tyler School of Art, Temple University, Japan Campus, and also works as an artist and dramaturge. His website is www.shinyab.com.
