David Samuel Robbins
David Samuel Robbins is a fine art and editorial photographer specializing in projects about traditional cultures and adventure travel. He has worked on assignment throughout the world for many leading publications, including National Geographic Adventure and The New York Times Magazine, and has led photography tours for National Geographic Expeditions in Bhutan and Tibet.
David has traveled and photographed extensively in Morocco and other predominantly Muslim countries, including Turkey, Indonesia, Pakistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
David has a particular affection and fascination for the Himalaya and the Indian subcontinent, a region he has visited more than 50 times as a photographer, cultural guide, and photography workshop instructor. His book, Himalayan Odyssey, was the culmination of 10 years’ work and over 2,000 miles of trekking in Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan, and India. This is David’s seventh year teaching for The Workshops.
