Joanna Hurley is an agent, packager, and promoter of books on the visual arts with HurleyMedia. She has worked with photographers including Nick Brandt, Mark Klett, Richard Misrach, Irving Penn, and Eliot Porter, and organizations such as the American Library Association and the International Folk Art Alliance. Prior to founding HurleyMedia, she worked at Vintage Books/Alfred A. Knopf, the University of New Mexico Press, and Thomas Y. Crowell/Harper, with writers including Barry Lopez, Richard Ford, Kazuo Ishiguro, Thomas McGuane, Richard Russo, and Terry Tempest Williams. She is a co-founder of Radius Books and the former chair and a current board member of CENTER, a not-for-profit organization that supports gifted and committed photographers.
