Melanie Craven is a photographer and gallery owner. With her twin sister, Michelle, she has produced an ongoing photographic series called Identical Otherness, which has been published in Hayen's Ferry Review, Collotype Past, Present and Future and Jill Enfield's Guide to Photographic Alternative Processes.
In 2004, Melanie and Michelle founded Tilt Gallery, a contemporary fine art gallery specializing in hand applied photography processes and mixed media art, in downtown Phoenix. In 2012, Tilt moved to the Arts District in Old Town Scottsdale. With well over 1,000 exhibitions under their belt, Melanie and Michelle continue to offer individual artist exhibitions, juried and group shows, and serve the local art community. Tilt also created a juried show called Photography Re-Imagined, which gained international recognition within the five years it ran.
Melanie has served as juror for The Kiernan Gallery Fact and Fantasy exhibition and Photolucida, Critical Mass. In 2016, Melanie and Michelle received the 100 Creatives Best of Phoenix New Times. The Tilt Gallery website is www.tiltgallery.com.
